I began my professional photography career in 2008 capturing portraits of people. I really enjoyed the challenge of getting the subject to feel comfortable in front of my camera. The human connection in photography is what initially attracted me. After 8 years as a portrait photographer, I was asked by a friend, who is a custom home builder, to photograph a couple of his projects. I agreed thinking I’d get some good pictures for him and get right back to photographing people.

However, during a walk through of the space, he shared with me about his craft and creative process. Examining the space, I was enamored by the light and the geometry of the interior. I was no longer doing a favor for a friend. My job was to tell the story of his vision and execution through the medium of photography. I fell in love.

Unlike working with people, architectural photography consists of working with static objects. My primary role is to convey the feeling and the essence of a place. I love that I can slow down and examine composition, geometry, and light in every single photograph. I enjoy the challenge of each project, as well as, the stories behind them. The task of communicating a feeling of a three-dimensional space using a two-dimensional medium of photography is what drives my passion for architectural photography.

My most cherished subject to photograph is my family. I have been married to my wife Candace for almost 14 years and we have two beautiful daughters Rose and Mila. I learned from a very young age that tomorrow is not promised. That greatly impacted my outlook on life and helps me stay focused on today. And today I can honestly say two things. First, I get to do a job that I am passionate about, one filled with creativity and purpose. Secondly, I am surrounded and supported by a family who I love deeply and who deeply loves me. Today is a good day.
